Ten Tidbits Of Wisdom

A few years ago, I received the following ten tidbits of wisdom from one of my Christian friends via email. I have added appropriate Scriptures and article links:

1) Prayer is not a “spare wheel” that we pull out when in trouble; it is a “steering wheel” that directs us in the right path throughout life.

2) Have we ever wondered why a car’s windshield is so large and the rear view mirror is so small? Because our past is not as important as our future. So, let’s look ahead and move on (Philippians 3:13-14).

3) Friendship is like a book. It takes few seconds to burn, but it takes years to write.

4) All things in this life are temporary (2 Corinthians 4:18). If going well, enjoy it, they will not last forever. If going wrong, don’t worry, they can’t last long either.

5) Old friends are like gold! New friends are diamonds! If we get a diamond, let’s not forget the gold! Because to hold a diamond, we always need a base of gold!

6) Often when we lose hope and think this is the end, God smiles from above and says, “Relax, it’s just a bend, not the end!" (cf. Job 1-2; Job 42).

7) When God solves our problems, we have faith in His abilities; when God doesn’t solve our problems He has faith in our abilities.

8) A blind person once asked a wise man: “Can there be anything worse than losing eye sight?” He replied: “Yes, losing your vision.”

9) When we pray for others, God listens to us and blesses them; and sometimes, when we are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for us (Acts 12:5; Philippians 1:1-4; Colossians 1:1-3; 1 Thessalonians 1:1-3).

10) Worrying does not take away tomorrow‘s troubles; it takes away today’s peace (cf. Matthew 6:34; John 14:27; Ephesians 2:13-14; Philippians 4:6-7).
