It Is A Privilege To Represent The Lord!

Paul identified himself as an “apostle” (1 Timothy 1:1), meaning “he that is sent.” It was “by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ.” In other words, his apostleship was not a human, but a divine appointment.

Paul had formerly been a “blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man” (1 Timothy 1:13). He considered himself to be the “chief” of sinners (1 Timothy 1:15). But because of God’s mercy, he was now an apostle, one to whom “the King eternal” (1 Timothy 1:17) had committed the glorious gospel and to whom He had sent out to share that gospel.

Similar to the apostle Paul, we too are sent out by the King of kings to the world (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 8:3-4).

With humility, let us recognize that we don’t deserve such a commission either.

Rather, let us consider it a privilege to represent the Lord and His eternal truth in word and in deed each day to everyone with whom we come in contact with (Colossians 3:17; Acts 5:42).
