The Bible Has An "App" For That!

Do we remember when telephones were for making simple phone calls? (see video) Today, cell-phone applications, or “apps” as they are called, allow us the capability of reading daily news reports, sports scores, playing games, planning trips, finding out what our location is anywhere on the globe — or any of three hundred thousand other applications that are now readily available.

However, the “apps” for phones are nothing compared to the kind of “apps” Scripture provides us. The “applications” found in God’s book, the Bible, are inspired messages telling us how to “apply” the truth of His Word to all of life. For example, we might look at the “apps” found in Ephesians 5 — the imitate-God "app" (Ephesians 5:1); the walk-in-love “app” (Ephesians 5:2); the purity “app” (Ephesians 5:3); the tongue “app” (Ephesians 5:4).

If we look in Philippians 2, we see the unity “app” (Philippians 2:2); the humility “app” (Philippians 2:3); the no-grumbling “app” (Philippians 2:14); and the shine-as-lights “app” (Philippians 2:15). Multiple “apps“ can be found in the book of Proverbs as well.

The best thing about the above “apps,” is that we don’t have to wait for someone to offer them on the Internet. All we have to do is simply open our Bibles and note the hundreds of ways that Scripture is applicable to our everyday life and living.

Do we have questions as to how to live the Christian life? Then let us be willing to search God’s “apps” found in the Bible (Acts 17:11; 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV) — the answers are there.

Dear reader, whatever question we might have, the Bible has an “app” for that!
