"Don't Cry Alone"

The sinking of the Titanic in 1912 resulting in the loss of over 1,500 lives, was indeed one of the major tragedies of the 20th Century. Researchers found that impure rivets that were used in the ship's hull, was a major factor in the ship's demise.

In commemoration of the centennial of the tragic sinking of the Titanic on April 15, 1912, the late Bee Gee member, Robin Gibb and his son R.J. Gibb composed an album of classical music, entitled, "The Titanic Requiem." One of the songs from the album entitled, "Don't Cry Alone," was performed by Robin Gibb just one month before his passing. Here are the lyrics to the song.

The beauty of both the lyrics and the song itself is breathtaking, giving us a greater appreciation of not only the God-given musical talent of the late Robin Gibb, but of God Himself (Psalm 139:14; 1 Corinthians 12:18).

We don't know the depth of our God-given talents until tragedy suddenly strikes. The loss of a loved one can either bring about to our soul despair, or a stronger will to keep doing those things that bring honor, not only to those who have passed from this life, but those who are presently living on earth, bringing glory to God, the giver of all life (Matthew 5:14-16; Acts 17:24-25).

Beloved, may God give us the strength to accomplish the spiritual goals that He has given each one of us (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16), knowing that whatever tragedy may come our way during this earthly existence, we will never have to cry alone (John 11:1-35; cf. Hebrews 13:5).
