"He Who Is Least In The Kingdom Of Heaven"

John the Baptist was truly a great man in several ways: (1) He was a child of promise born to godly parents; (2) he prepared "the way" for the Lord and bore "witness" of Jesus as the Christ (Matthew 3:1-3; John 1:6-7); (3) his preaching was "plain and powerful" (Matthew 3:1-2; Mark 1:1-4; Luke 3:1-3); (4) as a result of his preaching, many people went out to be "baptized" by him (Matthew 3:5-6; Mark 1:1-5; John 3:23); (5) he died the death of a martyr (Matthew 14:1-12; cf. Mark 6:16-29).

Nevertheless, as Jesus stated regarding John:

He who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he” (Matthew 11:11).

This statement by Jesus indicates the greatness of the kingdom and the value of the blessings therein. Those who make up the kingdom have been redeemed by the blood of Christ (Ephesians 1:7; Colossians 1:13-14).

Dear reader, how about you? Have you been delivered from the power of darkness and translated into the kingdom? (Colossians 1:13). If not, why not? Why not obey the gospel plan of salvation today?

Simply become a New Testament Christian (Acts 11:26).
