Marriage Is Not A "Ho-Hum" Thing!

After reading this article by Maria Puente of USA Today, along with this related article, this writer has come to the conclusion that getting a divorce among the Hollywood crowd is similar to receiving a Golden Globe award for best actor or actress just a "Ho-Hum" thing!

In Ms. Puente's article, she states that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez announced that after two years of marriage, "It is with a heavy heart that we have come to the decision to divorce. ‎We move forward with love and respect for one another and the shared focus of what is best for our son." The article goes on to say that, "she [Halle Berry] also has a daughter, Nahla, 7, from a previous, and contentious,  relationship with Gabriel Aubry."

My question is, why even get married at all, if you are only going to stay together as husband and wife for two years? And what about the children affected by this impending divorce? Believe me, they will be left with emotional scars that will last a lifetime. This writer knows from whence he speaks, for I am a child of divorced parents.

Whatever happened to honoring your marriage vows  or any vow for that matter? (Numbers 30:1-4; Deuteronomy 23:21; Psalm 50:14; Ecclesiastes 5:4-5). For example, like the "until death do us part" thing? (Romans 7:1-2; 1 Corinthians 7:39). I was faithful to my bride for almost 37 years until her last breath on earth.

Beloved, God takes marriage between two people very seriously (Matthew 19:3-6; cf. Malachi 2:14). Marriage is not a "Ho-Hum" thing! (2 Corinthians 5:10; cf. Ecclesiastes 12:13-14).
