Ronda Rousey And Limitations

In one of his most memorable movies, actor Clint Eastwood as detective Harry Callahan, uttered this line: "A man's got to know his limitations." Perhaps Ronda Rousey should have watched this video, noting this infamous line before she engaged Holly Holm in a UFC Women's Bantamweight Division fight, suffering a second round TKO.

No matter what the extent of our particular talent or ability is, there is always someone with a greater talent or ability someone who is smarter, larger, faster, stronger, and more agile than we are. This is true in any area of life. The Creator has set in each one of us limitations to work around in bringing glory and honor to Him (see also here, here and here).

After some disciples of Jesus' chided Him for allowing Mary to come and anoint Him with precious ointment before his impending death and burial (Mark 14:1-7), He told them: "Let her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a good work for Me ..... She has done what she could" (Mark 14:6,8). In other words, she did all she could do, working within the limitations of the resources at her disposal in bringing honor and glory to her Lord.

Beloved, as followers of Christ, let us also use our God-given talents, working around our limitations, in bringing honor and glory to our Lord as well.
