"We Are Called Upon To Be Truth Tellers"

As author Penny Nance  recounts the many atrocities attributed to ISIS in this American Thinker article, she briefly writes about Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who served as a messenger for a small German resistance movement during Hitler's regime.

Ms. Nance quotes Bonhoeffer's exhortation to people in the movement:

Silence in the face of evil is itself evil: God will not hold us guiltless. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act.

Ms. Nance ends her article with these two statements:

"Now we must begin to ask ourselves what speaking and acting looks like for us today.  I don’t yet have a full answer to that question, but I know we are called upon to be truth tellers, even in the face of death."

Yes, Ms. Nance, as followers of Christ, we are indeed "called upon to be truth tellers, even in the face of death" (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 4:1-4; Revelation 2:10 NET).
