"Our Sin Is Our Undoing"

As I was reading this good article as well as this article from blogger Matt Walsh this morning regarding our country falling apart and it's our fault, my eyes focused on the above words — "our sin is our undoing." Sad to say, Mr. Walsh in indeed correct in his assessment of the citizens of our nation.

Is the moral condition we find our nation in today a result of a our lack of intelligence? Mr. Walsh's answer is "no" to that question. What then is our major problem?

Mr. Walsh writes:

"If a lack of intelligence were at the core of our nation’s problems, it might be true that our dear leaders in government, media, and education are solely to blame because they’re the smart ones taking advantage of a bunch of drooling imbeciles. But I don’t believe that to be the case. I believe at the core of our nation’s problems — especially our electoral problems, but also everything beyond that — are a collection of common vices, not mental deficiencies: laziness, apathy, greed, pride, envy, hatred, etc."

In other words, as Mr. Walsh has stated, "our sin is our undoing." See if this is not the case here, here, here and hereOur Lord once asked this question: "But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?" (Luke 18:8 NLT). My question is, "how many will He find on the earth who have integrity?Obviously very few. What's the solution to our nations ills? God's Book gives us the answer in 2 Chronicles 7:14. We must (1) humble ourselves; (2) pray and seek God's face; (3) turn from our wicked ways. Then and only then will God hear us, forgiving our sin and healing our country.

Beloved, may we as citizens of America, the most blest nation that has ever existed on the face of the earth, be willing to humble ourselves and follow the above instructions from Almighty God. Only by doing so, can we change our nation's moral compass.
