What About The 72 Virgins Of Islam?

Quite frequently, we hear about the 72 virgins of Islam who will be immediately available to all Islam believing men at their demise.

Quoting from Wikiislam.net: "In Islam, the concept of 72 virgins (houri) refers to an aspect of Jannah (Paradise). This concept is grounded in Qur'anic text which describe a sensual Paradise where believing men are rewarded by being wed to virgins."

Contrary to the above belief, in His discourse with the Sadducees (Matthew 22:23-30), our Lord stated the following regarding marriage after the resurrection:

"For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven" (Matthew 22:30).

Regarding the above text, Bro. Burton Coffman comments (source):

"The Sadducees' ideas were founded on ignorance and a common and vulgar view of all spiritual things, including the resurrection. Christ, in refutation of their false views, unveiled some of the glories of the future state. Men shall not marry. They will have no such need or desire. All earthly ties and relationships shall have been outgrown, their purpose ended, and no longer needed or desirable. Like the holy angels, men shall have an existence in God, apart from all limitations and necessities of the flesh. They shall hunger no more, nor thirst. Weeping and crying shall not exist. How strange that such thoughts had not occurred to the Sadducees!"

Beloved, false teaching can easily be refuted by those who "study" God's word (2 Timothy 2:15). Such is the case regarding Islamic men being rewarded by "being wed to virgins" in their concept of Paradise, which is totally opposite to the biblical view.
