Ivy League Babies, Responsibility, And Reality

As I read this National Review article by author and reporter, Katherine Timpf, I now realize just how infantile and irresponsible our Ivy League students have become, knowing that Donald Trump will be our nation's elected and sworn in President on January 20, 2017 (see here).

As Ms. Timpf points out in her good article, this life is not about political correctness, "safe spaces," or our "feelings."  It's about assuming individual responsibility for our thought processes and actions (Mark 7:14-23; cf. Philippians 4:8-9 NLT).

Quoting Ms. Timpf from her above article:

"We have become a society where our kindergartners are more capable than the adults who are studying at Yale, an institution that is supposedly reserved for our best and brightest. Newsflash, kids: “There is something in my life that is bothering me” is not automatically followed by “Therefore I do not have to attend to any of my responsibilities."

To the Ivy League babies ..... it's past time to "cowboy up" (see website) ..... to cease crying and throwing temper tantrums when facts get in our way or we don't get our way. Know that even though it's sometimes difficult to face reality ..... we can't delete reality!

As Ms. Timpf points out in her closing remarks:

"It’s okay to be upset. It’s okay to cry, and it’s even okay to let your teachers know that you are struggling and to try to work something out if necessary ..... on far too many college campuses, however, this kind of response to anything that even remotely resembles adversity has become the rule rather than the exception. Sooner or later, these people will have to realize that no one owes it to you to care, and that expecting society to revolve around your own personal feelings means you have an even bigger ego than the Donald himself."
