What Age Group Of Students Are The Easiest To Teach?

After substitute teaching in our local public school libraries for thirteen years, I'm often asked, "In your experience, what age group of students are the easiest to teach?"

There's no question in my mind that kindergarten students are by far the easiest to teach.

Why?

Simply because kindergarten students sit very quietly, hang on every word that proceeds out of your mouth, and observe your every movement. They are not easily distracted and are highly focused. Not only that, they are curious and enjoy asking all kinds of questions. Plus, they are honest, teachable, lovable, trusting, and have a great ability to laugh.

It's no wonder then that Jesus said to His disciples, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven" (Matthew 18:1-3).
