Going Farther Than The Extra Mile

James Robertson is a one-of-a-kind man who truly believes in the word "commitment." He proves it each day, by going just a little farther than the extra mile (Matthew 5:41) — he walks twenty-one miles every day to work. James has been walking to work for almost ten years, having a perfect attendance record.

According to this video, James goes to bed at 4:00 a.m. and gets up at 6:00 a.m., with only two hours sleep, and makes the same long and arduous trek over and over again.

James' boss says that James sets the standard for attendance. Whenever other employees call in and tells the boss that the weather is bad and they can't come in to work, the boss tells them that James is at work, so they need to be at work as well.

Beloved, just think, if every member of the Lord's church had James Robertson's commitment mindset, we would have no problem with attendance on Sunday, or any other day the church assembles. And think of the importance of the example we would set before our children!
