"Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder"

There's an old saying that says, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" (see source). In other words, the perception of beauty is subjective in nature. There's another saying that says, "Beauty is only skin deep" (source), which indicates that a person's character is far more important than their appearance.

This writer has seen very handsome men dating over-weight women (some to the point of being obese!). And I've also seen the reverse (attractive women dating not-so-handsome, sometimes over-weight men (and no, the men are not filthy rich!).

For example, take tennis great, Roger Federer and his wife, Mirka (see here and here). In this writer's view, Mirka is not the most attractive woman in the world, physically speaking, but Roger thinks she is, and that's what really counts (see video).

From the above video, one can plainly see the mutual attraction and love they have for one another. It's a binding and committed attraction, for their union have produced two twin boys and girls (see #5 here).

As Christians, we too have a mutual attraction and love, in the Person of Jesus Christ our Savior, because of what He did for us (Romans 5:8-9; cf. John 3:16-17).

Beloved, when we allow the Lord to work His will through us (Hebrews 13:20-21; cf. Philippians 2:12-13), we become an uncommon beauty and an extraordinary hero to Him.
