Bible Faith Involves.....

Brother David Diestelkamp, one of the writers for the "Think On These Things" online Christian publication, has recently written this article in which he describes Bible faith in the following simple terms:

1) Thinking: "..... think on these things" (Philippians 4:8).
2) Reasoning: "..... he reasoned" (Acts 17:2).
3) Reading: "..... have you not read" (Matthew 12:3).
4) Understanding: ".....do you understand" (Acts 8:30.
5) Trusting: "Abraham ..... went" (Hebrews 11:8).

Regarding faith, brother Diestelkamp goes on to say that we must have:

1) Reasonable faith -- the use of logic (right thinking or reasoning - see #7 here).

2) Trusting faith -- placing our full trust and confidence in God who fulfills all of His promises (Hebrews 6:10-20).

3) Faith faith -- the kind of faith that is not based on physical sight (Matthew 16:13-17; John 20:29; Hebrews 11:8,24-27).

Brother Diestelkamp concludes his good article by stating that true faith, i.e., Bible faith, is faith that involves our total trust in God (Proverbs 3:5-6; cf. Isaiah 55:8-11), even when we can't immediately see the outcome (Romans 4:15-22; Hebrews 11:11).
