"The Whole Place Is Corrupt"

After reading these two American Thinker articles this morning, here and here, regarding 'safe spaces' for sexual predators in Congress, this writer totally agrees with the comment that D'rango made regarding our Congress protecting their own regarding sexual harassment/abuse charges.

"There have been two-hundred thirty-five awards and settlements paid out of that slush fund, according to the congressional Office of Compliance. Think we'll ever find out who the abusers were? Keep dreaming. The whole place is corrupt."

Rest assured, God knows who the abusers are (see here). The above above sexual harassment/abuse charges reminds me of what Isaiah stated regarding the corrupt society of his day (Isaiah 1:1-15 NIV), and what Jesus charged the hypocritical scribes and Pharisees of doing in the first century:

"Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you cleanse the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of extortion and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee, first cleanse the inside of the cup and dish, that the outside of them may be clean also. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness" (Matthew 23:25-28 NKJV).

The end of their hypocrisy and lawlessness was well-described in the question our Lord posed in verse 33: "Serpents, brood of vipers! How can you escape the condemnation of hell?" To ask the question, is to answer the question -- they would not escape, and neither will the accused/guilty members of Congress escape. In fact, none of us will escape the condemnation of hell if we are found guilty of unrepentant sin on Judgment Day (1 Corinthians 6:9-10; Galations 5:19-21; Ephesians 5:3-5; 1 Timothy 1:9-10; Revelation 21:8).

Beloved, only those who are "in Christ Jesus" will escape the condemnation of hell (Romans 8:1). The question becomes, are we "in Christ Jesus"? (Galations 3:26-27; Romans 6:1-6). If not, we need to make certain that we are "today" (2 Corinthians 6:1-2 NLT).
