Wouldn't It Be Wonderful

As I was looking at the lines of people around the world waiting to purchase the new Apple iPhone X now on sale, I thought, wouldn't it be wonderful if we could persuade people to line up to hear God's word (eternal - 1 Peter 1:25 NET) being proclaimed in a public setting as they are in the above pictures for a material (temporary) object?

Beloved, it's all about where an individual's interests (what we value) and priorities are placed (Matthew 6:19-21; 31-34 Phillips Translation).

Instead of focusing our interests and priorities on the physical (or the temporary), we should be placing our interests and priorities on the spiritual (or the eternal).

As the inspired apostle Paul instructs us in Colossians 3:1-2 AMP:

"Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth" [which have only temporal value].

The two questions we must ask ourselves are these: (1) Does this new Apple iPhone X (a physical, temporary item) take priority over that spiritual, or eternal place called heaven? (2) Which of the two is the best investment for the long term?

Let us seriously "think" about our answers and then willingly line up tomorrow to hear God's word proclaimed on the Lord's Day (Matthew 7:21; Hebrews 10:23-25 NET).
