Another Alcoholic Drink Article

Almost every year, before another New Year comes around, there's another alcoholic drink article that pops up, containing similar information as all other alcoholic drink articles. For example, This USA Today article asks the question, "How many alcoholic drinks are too many per week?"

No matter how many or how few alcoholic drinks the above article suggests that one can safely ingest, the best rule of thumb is none. The above article states that "Dietary Guidelines doesn't recommend anyone who doesn't drink should start drinking." In fact, there is no such thing as a safe level of alcoholic consumption (see article).

Let us ask ourselves the following three questions:

1) Can Christians justify the drinking of alcoholic beverages?
2) Can anyone truly drink responsibly?
3) Would we give alcohol to our pets?

If we're honest with ourselves, we already know the answer to the above questions. Here and Here are other reasons to avoid alcohol. Plus, there are many more reasons to avoid alcohol, one of those being death (see here).

Beloved, the bottom line is this: We need to "stay away from every kind of evil"..... as the apostle Paul through inspiration states in 1 Thessalonians 5:22 NLT (see article).

Here's wishing you a safe alcohol-free New Year's Day (and Happy New Year - 2018!).
