About Mike Riley

My earthly life began in Wellington, Texas in March, 1944. My early years were spent growing up on my grandparents’ farm near Samnorwood, Texas.

In the 1950’s, my family moved to the farming community of Hale Center, Texas, where I completed my middle school education, and then on to Olton, Texas during my high school years.

I attended and completed three years of college at North Texas State University (now known as University of North Texas - see here) in Denton, Texas from 1962 - 1965, majoring in music education.

Spent four years in service to my country (USAF - 1965-1969) serving in Okinawa (Naha) and England (Bentwaters).

For the past 30 years, I have called El Paso, Texas my home. I was married to the late Nancy Riley, for almost 37 years. I am presently retired from the El Paso School District.

For the past 45 years, I have taught Bible classes ranging from elementary to adult in the Lord’s church. At present, I am a member of the Northside congregation of the Lord's people.

See here for the times of service for the Northside church of Christ English speaking congregation.

I conduct the Sunday morning adult Bible class, and also assist in leading prayers and songs of praise for the congregation. When our regular preacher, Jerry Duke, is out of town, I also substitute preach.

Additionally, I have written and posted Bible-related articles to my Gospel Snippets Blog, which will be six years old on February 17, 2020. However, due to a right eye infirmity and limitation (see here), I'm no longer able to post any more articles. Please be blessed by the posted articles and share them with others in your sphere of family and friends. Thank you so much and may God richly bless you!
